Mark objected, and told me to stop looking so damn soppy and crack on with the story. It was unbelievably difficult to tell him of how I had been shot twice.
• A vampire who has lived for so long she can’t even remember her age. She came to the new continent in a ship filled with settlers when the new continent was first discovered. She claimed to have accumulated countless wealth, and even possessed supernatural powers far.
• The longer the better. I love long stories, with extraordinary plots, well written, full of phantasy and thrill, humor and/ or darkness, vampires and/ or humans, love and lemons and drama. Here are my favorites which pass these descriptions. I'm always open for new suggestions. Staff is welcome - help me collecting the best of the best!

When my friend Julie Hutchings gave me a copy of Running Home to read, I had to admit, I hadn't read much in the way of vampire fiction. Aside from a couple of shorts from Stephen King's first short story collection, Night Shift, that related to Salem's Lot, The first one hundred pages of Twilight, and Rick Gualtieri's 'Bill the Vampire' series, I was virgin to this territory.

One day, a young chef Raylan and his mentor went together to the mountains to gather ingredients. Little did they know that they would encounter a heavy thunderstorm, and a hostile scouting party. In order to escape pursuit by the enemy, Raylan ran for his life in the mountain forest. Soon afterwards, lightning started a fire around an area, and he stumbled upon a large hole in a tree. Inside, he encountered a mysterious girl in a deep sleep who resembled Sleeping Beauty, but before he could wake her up to find out what happened to her, everything turned black for some reason…
